’tis the season

Here I am at 7.30am today on one of the lovely pre-trainers, first lot out on a beautiful September morning in the stunning Adelstrop mist. Things are becoming a bit more “pointing” here in the yard as the dynamic changes and we ready for winter and the forthcoming season.

A number of the pre-trainers have gone back to their trainers. Leith Hill Lad, Scented Lily and Loose Chips have all gone back to Charlie Longsdon, Golden Taipan has returned to Fergal O’Brien,  Sandymount Rose to Neil Mulholland and most of Jamie Snowden’s horses have gone back home after their summer break at Fern Farm. We now look forward to following their winter campaigns.

A number of babies are back in work readying themselves for going into training in the coming months, it’s fascinating to see how they’ve grown over the summer and how they’ll now progress in their education.

On the pointing side old favourites Western Diva, Exclusive Rights and What a Joke plus newbie Jennifer Juniper have just been shod. They join Reality Bites, Charmond and a lovely big 4 year-old by Yorgunnabelucky in their roadwork and Man in the Moon who is now cantering and will be an early season runner.

With the p2p season starting on Saturday 17th November and eleven meetings taking place before the New Year we’re hoping to having some fun and good days out before Christmas.
